Aperture question on DSLR?

-I enjoy using depth of field manly so I constantly keep my aperture as low as it can go (I have a standard lens so 5.6 usually).

Does this mean I am a less skilled photographer?depends...

is that all you know how to use on your camera or is that what you enjoy most.

a skilled photographer knows how to use all the functions on his camera, but it is perfectly ok if you know all the functions but like that one over the rest. every photographer has a certain fell to photos they like and that can most certainly be one.... just make sure you know all the functions other than that too.
Don't worry so do I have a look at this aperture lesson http://www.mccordall.com/photography/ it's a video I've just made, and you won't be wasting 8 minutes of you life , being able to manage short depth of field is the key to great shots, by the way 5,6 is pretty normal realy most pro prime lenses will open up to f1.8 or f2.8 depending on the focal length very long lenses will be a bit higher.
Everyone is less skilled than some and more skilled than others. All it really means you have not yet bought a faster lens. For most brands there's a good and affordable 50mm f1.8, might want to consider that.
I would say, to an technical aspect, that yes, you may be a less skilled photographer.

A skilled photographer knows how to use his camera's full functions.
hahaha... I've been using f1.8 to f2.8.. tell me if I am less skilled.. here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilbaltazar/
Yes, because you don't understand that there a lot of situations where a higher f-number is necessary.
The fact that your question makes no sense indicates that you are less skilled.
