How do i make the background of this photograph look like a dark tunnel?

-I want to darken the photograph in the background so it looks like a long tunnel using photoshop CS5.

and separate on new layer as copy duplicate,

then create new blank later and decide if you want darkness from back to front or front to back,

back to front may be better as lighting is from front side,

select light at the end of tunnel with eclipse tool as half circle, then feather 20 pixels ~

then invert selection, then use gradient tool black to transparent, and drag from circle to front edge,

then apply layer mode soft light or pin light , try others with opacity option,

opposite for black is to flip gradient front to back,

take the photo IN a dark tunnel and use a flashgun...



other than that, use the lasso to isolate the subject and add a layer where the background is darkened... BUT people will realise there is a problem, because the lights wouldn't be lit...
