-Is their any company that will send a valuation via post instead of the cheap email ones that look like total fakes!Do I understand that you have just accused someone here of ripping you off on eBay?



The reason why an antique cannot be valued from a distance is that there are so many good fakes and replicas of objects. A good antique dealer or auctioneer with experience of handling objects, needs to see and feel, look at the patina on a piece of metalwork or furniture, examine joints, solders, and so on. It would be impossible to give more than a 'guesstimate' of anything from a picture or a description.You mean "is there some firm which will go to the trouble of making a printed evaluation and the labor of making and stuffing an envelope plus postage of an evaluation of something where I sent in pictures for them to look at rather than getting the piece to them or mailing high quality photo prints?"
