Jobs ideas for photographer?!?

-All tho I'm gonna start college this year I wanna have options of what I can work on when I'm done. I'm looking for a job that it has to do with what I'm gonna study that's well paid and stable.

i don't wanna be like other people that study something and end up working on something else.

Photographer for models (magazines)

Events

Photography Teacher

Scene crime photographer



Anything else?The world of photography has been very competitive ever since DSLRs made their way into almost every other household.



I'd say events are possibly the best route to go (at the moment) for portraits, almost everyone knows someone with a 'professional looking' camera that they ask to take a few quick free shots for them and they're happy with that having not paid anything!



Though, there are a lot of teenagers hoping/wishing to be models(even though most of the time it never happens) but they will pay for a shoot and images on disc (though you'll need model release forms and parental permission if they're under 18)



As for events. There are SO many events where you may make money. Horse shows, especially jumping/eventing, if they like the photos you've taken the riders are very partial to having the photos of the day.

Amateur bike shows/racing/off roading/motocross. Custom bike shows if the images are good enough that show off the custom work they've put into it.



There is live music, though that's becoming ridiculously competitive, a fan from the crown may snap a lucky shot that the band prefer over ones the professionals have taken to use for promo or even that magazines want to publish. Magazines can also get away with paying as little if anything at all for using a lucky fan snap than a professional photo and they will do this if they can. If you're lucky you may get some free merch for taking the photos you did or a few drinks after the show. You CAN strike if they ask you for portrait shots for posters.there are some things you need to remember



most photographers are self-employed or freelance and that means there is nothing well paid or stable



there aren't any jobs out there for photographers unless you create your own



and for things like crime scene, you need lots of other qualifications



and to be employed by others, you need to have a proven track record, not that you went to college
