Do you consider Jackson Pollock's paintings art?

-I have drop cloth that looks just like his work. Maybe I'll frame it and sell it to sucker.I like art, and I think Jackson Polluck is talented on some level, but what infuriates me is the fact that so many paintings in this world cost millions of dollars! Seriously, paintings are not worth a $100 million dollars. I don't care how rich a person is, but to spend that much money on any painting whether its Van Gogh, Picasso, or even Polluck is not worth it.
Yes. Do I enjoy looking at them? No. Just because you don't like them it doesn't render his work not art. Perhaps this is where the ideas of high-art and low-art come in. The idea that some art work is worth more to our culture and to us personally than others. Perhaps you should try reading a couple of articles or interviews where he talks about his work. Perhaps you might find it more interesting. I really enjoy Bridget Riley's work after discovering how much time she spends thinking about the colours and illusions she's creating. The straight lines have connections to painting painted by great masters. Perhaps Pollock is trying to convey something and we're just not 'getting' it. Although, clearly someone is enjoying it, and someone considers it art.
Pollock was an innovator, as such he has earned the respect of the public and his work is considered art by historians and critics. What I think is irrelevant... He will always be known for his unique contribution to the art world.
On the same level of other, Piet Mondrian, Joan Mir贸, Paul Klee, Alfredo Volpi
a five-year-old could do better
not even if someone who got their phd in art said so
