-1st question- if i use liquid latex to make a halloween mask and i sprinkle baby powder on it afterward could i wash the powder off and would it be sticky afterward without the baby powder or is it a one time thing.
2nd question i bought liquid latex from maximum impact will i be able to use it to make halloween masks like is it safe to use on the face.
3rd question if someone licked the latex mask by accident would it harm that person or is it harmless after it dries.
Thats about all the questions i have for now please anyone answer them for me.1. I believe the baby powder works its way in and will not be washed off and leave the mask sticky, but although I have used latex for molds and for theater makeup, I don't recall testing this. You can do a simple test by painting up a few layers in a small area, letting it completely set, peeling it off and doing the baby powder and washing and see what happens
2. For most people, latex is safe to use on skin. I have used it as the basis of beards and mustaches built directly on the faces of college students and for effects on my face. But some people are allergic to latex such as in bandages and usually they will know it. If you haven't done so, paint a small area of your skin with a couple of layers and let it set then note if you itch or turn very red in the area. Peel it off. There may be some red from adhesion, but if it is angry red or puffy, don't go further and have a doctor check.
3. Licking cured latex should not cause any problems for most people. Even someone with allergy is likely to be protected by saliva. You can check further on line for latex allergies.
