-I used to draw in an anime-like style, but I often thought that being stuck in that genre of "art" isn't too good for a developing artist.
I mostly draw cartoons now.
What do you think?Yes, and also cartoons aren't that much different from drawing anime (they're literally are pretty much the same thing). You need to try other styles besides your main preference which is pretty much cartoon style. Those are heavily stylized art. You need to learn realism first and then you can practice drawing cartoon style because you'll understand how to actually stylize after instead of making so many mistakes.
im 14 and have been drawing anime for three years, yes its fine and all that but it is even better if you can draw in other styles too.
That way you can broaden horizens and what not ahaaha
but seriously there is always something new to learn in every style just because you can draw in other styles doesn't mean you should just give up on others :)
hope i helped a bit :)
Try drawing academic style too. Styles can be limiting or they can be liberating. Just try to learn how to draw as many ways as you can as well as you can.
Yes, you need to widen your skills and styles. Try many styles and techniques. There really isn't a market for manga/anime artists.
I'm glad you stopped. Not everyone likes that style so its good to widen your skills
